The Church
At The Falls Church we believe that everyone is gifted by God in unique ways and there is a role for everyone to play, so together we can show God’s love to the world. We’re fond of saying that The Falls Church is “all crew and no passengers”. For some people that looks like active leadership roles in the ministries of the church, for others it’s as simple as arriving at worship 5 minutes early as an act of hospitality for newcomers. There are so many ways to serve, and our staff and leadership love helping people discern where their gifts and joys meet the needs of the church, the local community, and the world.
When it comes to serving the church, there many ways to serve:

-
As a member of the Altar Guild you can help set the church up for worship, on Sundays and special days.
-
You could serve as part of the service, as a crucifer, chalice bearer or as a reader.
-
Use your musical talent and serve our music ministry.
-
Offer hospitality as an usher or greeter
-
Serve as a members of our vestry or on one of the sub-committees e.g. outreach, children's ministry
-
Volunteer to help out in the office during the week.
-
Work with your hands and pitch in to keep our buildings and grounds in good order.
-
Train with us to support our children and youth ministries.
-
Support coffee hour by volunteering to serve on Sunday, or bake something to share.
We also serve the wider church in a number of ways, including participating in conventions and meetings with the Diocese of Virginia, and supporting parishioners and seminarians who will be ordained to serve congregations in Virginia and beyond.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can serve the church (or have a new idea for a ministry that you’d like to share) please contact Rev'd. Matthew Dumont-Machowski, the Associate Rector.
